A forum member and loyal reader of Vince-Vaughn.com reminded me that this website just passed the four-year mark on July 11th! Can't believe I've kept this project going that long. I guess as long as Vince is working, I'll keep the site running. :D

Our friend, Tappanga recently created 100 amazing Vince Vaughn icons and has so generously shared them with us. You can find them on the Downloads page and also in the Forum.
Thank you so much for sharing these with us, Tapp!
Hey all you myspace addicts...Have you checked out Vince-Vaughn.com on myspace? Starting next week, I will be updating the blog with all of the same Vince news and announcements you find here. So if you prefer the myspace world for getting your Vince news, this is the place to be. hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Ali815 and DonovanA91, the winners of our poster drawing! And if you didn't win this time, don't worry. I have a couple other great contests coming up soon!
I will PM the winners, but if they don't respond by the end of the week, we'll draw another winner.
I know it's so 1997, but I've been playing around with a photo mosaic program I have and couldn't resist making a Vince Vaughn wallpaper using the technology. You can find this and other new wallpapers, icons, etc. in the Downloads area.
(Just realized I need to fix something on the new wallpaper. It's down for a bit, but will be up later on tonight.)
Jenn donated a bunch of fabulous LiveJournal icons which are located in the downloads area. I've also uploaded them in the Forum's avatar gallery. Thanks so much, Jenn for your beautiful work! And she says there are more coming! Awesome.
So much going on today! I've been trying to catch a minute here and there to check the board and keep up with all of the latest Vince news. A couple of interesting items...first Vince is no longer with his publicist, I/D PR. Don't know the story behind the departure, but it was brought to my attention very shortly after it hit NY Post Page Six:
BAD PUBLICITYFUNNYMAN Vince Vaughn may not be as nice as he seems. The frat-boy icon, who shot to A-list stardom this year with the success of "Wedding Crashers," and is now cuddling up to Jennifer Aniston during the filming of ""The Break-Up"," has been dropped by his longtime public relations firm, the powerful I/D PR. One insider said, "Vince was being abusive." A partner at I/D PR confirmed that Vaughn was dumped but added, "There is no truth to your negative portrayal of Vince. We continue to have an amicable relationship and wish him continued success." Vaughn's reps at United Talent Agency didn't return calls.
And I love what Defamer had to say about it...
More Hollywood Life Lessons: Be Nice To Your Publicist"While we can’t say for sure this is how it happened, isn’t it easy to picture the “insider” and the “partner” from the flackery sitting across the desk from each other, passing the phone back and forth, taking turns talking smack and issuing insincere-sounding denials? Nicely done. Fruit baskets for everyone!"
So there's that story.
I'm sorry there haven't been any updates the last few days. I've been crazy busy this week. Tomorrow I'll be adding a couple of things sent in by fans, plus, if you haven't heard, the Old School sequel has finally been given the greenlight. More later!
Someone on the forum asked about desktop wallpaper which inspired me to create a few tonight. I've been meaning to make some for a long time (along with some AIM icons, etc.) They're pretty simple & clean, but that's my style. :)
You can find them in the Downloads section.
I'm taking off a couple of days for some sun, fun and relaxation with the family. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! Summer's almost over...make the most of it!
The forum is back up on vince-vaughn.com!
I had to put it up on my other website for the time being, because we still haven't figured out what is missing/corrupted with the server at the new host. Nice, huh? But I know the problem's not on my end since I was able to get it backed up at my personal website.
Hold off on posting anything for a couple of hours. I JUST figured out the problem, all by myself! Wheeeee! BRB...
There might be 3 or 4 posts that were lost from the time I put the forum on my personal site and then figured out the problem and put it back on vince-vaughn.com.
Please let me know if anything else is buggy. I've been sitting here for a couple of hours just fixing weird stuff.
Edit--well, there still seems to be a problem. I'm working on it. The forum I installed at my other website has all of the posts, so I did another backup of that and am trying to import it now.
10:30am: Hopefully this is the last update on the post...all seems to be working well, with posts intact. :D
Hi everyone!
So I spent the whole* weekend moving files to the new host/creating new databases/installing software, etc. and I'm only halfway finished. The forum is still down. :( I can't seem get the old data imported into the new forum. But I have a phpbb expert helping me and apparently, there is a file missing from the server and I have a support ticket in to get it fixed. Hopefully they will get back to me sometime tomorrow. But I was able to get Movabletype installed (the program I use to publish the main part of the site) and most all of the files transferred. There are a few missing images and some things still don't work, but that will be taken care this week. (I just found that the comments and search features aren't working.)
And speaking of pictures. I don't know what I'm going to do about the gallery. I've been going over my referral logs and it's pretty obvious that the bandwidth problem stemmed from people hotlinking the photos I host to use on their own sites (in addition to the major increase in traffic because of Wedding Crashers release & the Jen rumors, etc.).
I have always been a pain-in-the-butt about hotlinking & bandwidth theft, but it is so hard to keep tabs on it when there are so many people who do it. As I've always said, I don't care if people download pictures from my site and use them on their own sites. I don't own the pics and I have no right to try and keep people from saving them to their own hardrives. Heck, I don't even have the right to ask people to give me credit for the pictures they use. They're not mine and most all of them came from different sources on the Internet anyway. BUT...when people direct-link the pics to show on their own sites (usually Xanga, MySpace & livejournal users), it sucks up all of my bandwidth and it costs a LOT of money. Hence, the $400 in extra bandwidth charges the last two months.
I did find a much better hosting plan** with lots more bandwidth each month, but I still have to keep from going over the limit. So either I'm going to have to protect the pictures from being hotlinked (you can still save them to your own computer). or not have a gallery at all. I'm looking at all options because I just can't have a Vince Vaughn website without a gallery.
So that's the scoop. I'm so glad I at least got the main site up. I'll continue to work on the forum issue tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience!
*okay, not the WHOLE weekend. I went to a party for a few hours yesterday, but other than that, I've been sitting here in my office, clicking away, pulling my hair out and drinking lots of iced coffee.
**thanks to all of you who sent donations. Without your tremendous support, I would have shut down last week. Thank you AGAIN!
P.S. If you've sent me an email, scan, link, etc., I will do my best to reply in the next couple of days. Thanks!
I will be spending the next 2-3 days transferring all of my files/databases, etc. to my new webhost. The site will might be down for a few hours sometime this weekend, but it will be back online by Monday for sure. Then again, everything might go smoothly and you won't even notice I've been gone!
Re: this post
I just have to say again that you guys are amazing, wonderful people. With your donations, vince-vaughn.com will stay afloat and I can now move to a new host with tons of storage and data transfer. The website will be able to continue to grow right along with Vince's popularity. I really had no idea you guys would help out as much as you did. Your contributions have covered the cost of the last two months overage charges, plus enough to get set up on a good, solid host.
Thank you so much again for your help. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for the future of the site. I plan to make the next year even better than last!
P.S. I tried to made sure each and every person who donated got a personal response from me. I double and triple checked the names, but if I somehow missed you, please let me know!
Okay, so here's the deal. I'm at risk for having to give up this site* because the traffic has quadrupled in the last two months and my hosting company just charged me over $300 in addition to the amount I've already paid to keep this site online. Last month is was an additional $86, My husband isn't very happy about how much this little hobby is costing me. I will soon be switching to a different host, but I can't do it until I cover the cost for my overage for June and July. I don't anticipate the data transfer issue to be too much of a problem in the future, because the traffic will die down a bit now that Wedding Crashers has been released and all the rumors of VInce and Jen have been squashed. At least I think it will.
I never thought I would have to do this, but I am putting up a little "donate" button in the sidebar. I'm not making this a pay site, that would be silly, but if anyone would like to help out with a dollar or two, I might be able to convince the big guy (my big guy, that is) to let me keep running vince-vaughn.com. I really hate asking for help. I was hoping that my participation in the various affiliate programs would help cover hosting costs, but my commissions aren't even enough to to request a payment.
This will be the only post about this and I will keep it on top for a few days. Please don't feel obligated and don't feel you have to apologize if you can't help. Believe me, I totally understand and I don't want to drive anyone away. But if you can, I would thank you from the bottom of my heart. Plus, I will give you credit on the site for your kindness.
God, my heart is aching as I type this. I hope you all know that it's a necessity and all money donated will only be used for the hosting of this website. Thank you for coming to vince-vaughn.com--you fans are the reason I made this site. I hope I can keep it for a long time.
Update: You guys are AWESOME!! I am simply blown away by your generosity. I was practically in tears this morning when only one hour after I put up this post, $40 had already been donated. And all day, I've been receiving donations. As Kristin put it, this ship is not going down!
Thank you so much to Siobhan, Leila, Meaghan, Anne, Shana, Maria, Caitlin, Cheryl, Michele, Bernice, Kevin, Keri, Pamella, Michelle, Alison, Jessica, Amanda, Tracey, Tami, Shellymarie, Laura, Sheena, Margaret, Jean Ann, Jim. Pippa, vava-vaughn, Sharon, Shannon, Marieke, Tori, Jen, Mary, ShellR, Christy, Kristen, Sharon O., Wendy, Jaime, Alicia, Bronte, Cardinal67, Suzanne, Michelle M. again!, Rebecca, Barbara, Cara, Kristi, Mollypops and Jill, Debbie, Gina, ShellR again, Vannessa and TeriB for your donations. You guys rock! And thank you to all of you who have sent your words of support. It's great to know so many of you enjoy this site! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!
*Update: We are out of the red and good to go! See this post THANK YOU!!! I tried to made sure each and every person who donated got a personal response from me. I double and triple checked the names, but if I somehow missed you, please let me know!
I've been making some modifications to the site, i.e., cleaning things up, moving stuff around, adding new features, etc., and I just realized that I officially started vince-vaughn.com on July 11, 2004. It's been a whole year! Exciting, no?
Looking forward to another!
So sorry about the lack of updates this week. I'll try and catch up on all of the Vince news...not that there was very much this week...a couple of pics on WireImage from the Maxim Magazine's Hot 100, lots of talk about Wedding Crashers, etc. But nothing major.
It was my birthday on Friday and I spent the whole weekend whooping it up with friends, family, etc. Went to a couple of amazing concerts, drank too way much alcohol, danced, caroused, and basically had the time of my life. I did have a somewhat Vince-related moment, however. After the concert on Friday we walked a few blocks over to the Velvet Margarita, one of Vince's supposed hangouts. I don't think he's a regular, but he has been spotted there quite a few times, most recently at Carmen Electra's Sauza Tequila party last week. (This article says Vince and Owen were also hosts of that party?) Anyway, it's a FABULOUS cantina, the decor is delightful, the tequila was flowing and much fun was had by all. Especially moi.
I've always felt a good fansite should have its own discussion forum. Even if no one ever posts, it's there. I will continue to support the other Vince forums that are out there, but to make this website a long-standing institution (haha), having a discussion forum is a necessity.
Finally! Enjoy the photos and take what you like, but please--no direct-linking! Bandwidth theft is a big Internet no-no. I'm a stickler about this, especially since my bandwidth has gone way up in the last couple of months. Thanks for understanding. :p
I just added a new audio file to the downloads section. It's from Dennis Miller Live, August 30, 2002. I finally just listened to it all the way through and it is a GREAT interview. It is actually Dennis' last show of his nine-year run! Pretty cool that he had Vince on for that.
I added a "downloads" section to the site with some sound files from a few of Vince's movies. Not sure what else I'll be adding in the future, though. When I get bored, maybe I'll make some wallpapers, icons etc. Any excuse to play around with pictures of Vince.
I've added lots of links to the site. If you have or know of a good Vince site that is not listed, please let me know. Thanks!
Welcome to vince-vaughn.com!
The main portion of the website is set up like a blog where entries are organized by date, with the most recent at the top. I update frequently, so browse around a little because there is a lot to see. 30 days of entries are shown on the main page, and the rest can be accessed by clicking on the links under "Older Entries" on the left.
Please feel free to email me with photos or news items about Vince. Even if I already have something, your submissions are much appreciated. Especially if you find something in a harder-to-find magazine (not People, In Touch or US). I just don't have time to browse through magazines every month looking for articles and photos of Vince, so if you find something, please do scan it and pass it along! You will receive credit if it's used. As they say over at Wilson-Brothers.com..."A fansite for his fans, by his fans."
If you want to talk about Vince and his movies, check out the vince-vaughn.com discussion forum which has been very active since it began in March 2005.
Thanks for visiting!
P.S. If you care to know who I am, here's my personal/photo blog. And you can email me here.
Just a technical question...
How do these pages view for you? I have checked on three different browsers and everything looks right (e.g., header across the top views properly, etc.) I would appreciate any feedback, positive or negative. Thanks!
