Flashback Vince: "The Confessional" - March 2005

This is one of my favorites...a classic video of Vince on the Ellen DeGeneres show doing "The Confessional."

Some things just need to be shared more than once.

Vince Got Slimed!

Vince was a guest on the Nickelodeon's 20th Annual Kid's Choice Awards tonight. And obviously, he got slimed. :D

Vince Vaughn has enough chemistry for all of us!

Vince and Jen made a taped appearance on the Teen Choice Awards last night, accepting their award for best onscreen chemistry. Here are some screencaps from the bit.

I'm sorry. Something suddenly came up.

Remember when Vince got bumped from Letterman in June because Bill Clinton became available? Guess he isn't the only one that's been cancelled at the last minute. This article from the NY Post's Page Six says that it's been happening often. I always assumed that this was standard practice (I used to watch a lot of The Larry Sanders Show). Take note that the article doesn't actually say that Vince was upset about it. I mean, he might have been thrilled to have been relieved of one of his pub tour gigs. And it's not like Wedding Crashers needed more publicity, right?

Here's the article:

Dave's Bumpy Show July 31, 2005 -- "THE Late Show with David Letterman" is ticking off some big-name stars by canceling their appearances at the last minute. According to an insider: "A few weeks back, Vince Vaughn was booked but was canceled the night before he was supposed to go on because President Clinton came through. This week, Andy Dick had been booked for Tuesday's show but was then bumped to Thursday when Jamie Foxx came through. Andy then flew in from Los Angeles and was booked for Thursday night's show instead ... but on Tuesday night, right during the premiere of 'The Aristocrats,' he got a phone call that Bill Murray had come through as a booking for that night." Dick settled for an appearance on "Live with Regis & Kelly." A third star, Rachel Griffiths, flew in from Australia to do the Letterman show, but was also canceled and won't be rescheduled for another four to six weeks.

Thanks Tracey and Alicia for passing this along.

Vince on The Early Show

If you missed Vince on The Early Show this morning, you can watch it here.

vinceonearlyshow.jpg

Here's what they talked about (taken from The Early Show's website:

(CBS) The New York Times recently called Vince Vaughn "red hot," while Newsweek crowned him "one of Hollywood's kings of comedy." Now Vaughn follows the huge success of "Old School" and "DodgeBall" with his latest big screen comedy "Wedding Crashers," costarring Owen Wilson.

In the comedy, divorce mediators John Beckwith (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy Grey (Vince Vaughn) are business partners and life-long friends who share one truly unique springtime hobby: Crashing weddings.

"I never heard of anyone crashing a wedding," Vaughn tells The Early Show co-anchor Hannah Storm and says he certainly had not gone to that extreme to meet girls.

"Being a movie star does help you meet girls," he says. "I like to think I became more interesting as I became older."

But girls are not the only motivator for Vaughn's character's hobby. Free food plays an important role, too.

He says, "I realized that I wasn't thin and also very flabby. Not in great shape. I better make this a character choice. I'm being totally serious, by the way. I would just sort of start eating everything around me. And it did kind of serve the movie well because obviously the guys are going to crash weddings. But also they really love weddings; they love dancing; they love eating; they love the band; they love singing. So they become more innocent than they would be if they were only interested in meeting girls."

The film has been well-received, coming in second at the box office over the weekend with $32.2 million in receipts. And it has opened a lot of doors for Vaughn, who has the film "The Break-Up" in the works with Jennifer Aniston. No surprise, paparazzi already have captured of images of the two of them doing a scene and have suggested it is a romance.

"I always look at it like they're trying to sell magazines," Vaughn says, "I don't really think it's the coolest thing. But I don't take it personally. They would do it where anyone is concerned. But a little odd that you're doing a scene in the movie and this is like a stolen moment."

So for those who are wondering, Vaughn says he is not going out with Aniston.

Charlie Rose Interview, etc.

I so enjoyed watching the Charlie Rose show tonight. Charlie is such a genuine and thoughtful interviewer and it was refreshing to listen to Vince talk seriously about his work instead of the same scripted gabfest we've been hearing/reading throughout the Wedding Crashers press tour. There's no question that Charlie Rose is aimed at a different demographic than Letterman, Conan, etc., and it was great to watch Vince in this more intimate setting.

And on the other side of the spectrum, go watch this video clip from Minneapolis' very own Eyewitness News station. Funny, funny stuff from the big V. Hey, I used to be a Mormon...do you think he'll take me as one of his wives? Hee.

Alert! Alert!

I was just browsing around some of the late night show's websites, and found out that Vince will be on Last Call With Carson Daly tomorrow night. Don't know why it wasn't shown on this page. One of us is wrong, so don't depend on my info. But it is on Carson Daly's ticket site.

Edit...I just realized that Carson Daly tapes (days?) in advance. So it will be taping tomorrow afternoon, but airing at a later date. That makes sense now. If there is any confusion, read the second item on Carson's FAQ page.

And don't forget the rest of the t.v. alerts for tomorrow:
The Today Show
Wednesday, July 13, 7:00 AM on NBC

Reel Comedy-Wedding Crashers
Wed Jul 13 02:00A on Comedy Central

Wedding Crashers: HBO First Look
Wed Jul 13 05:15A on HBO Comedy

Wedding Crashers Movie Special on MTV

Just saw Vince on T.V.

I just caught Vince in the crowd at the Cubs game singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." I've had the game on all day because Jaclyn said they were filming "The Break-Up" there again today. I haven't been watching very much of the game, but happened to be walking through the room when they put the camera right on Vince. Yay!

The Tonight Show

I GOT TO GO TO THE TAPING!!! Yes, dear fans, I was there, no more than thirty feet away from Vince for a whole 40 minutes. I had a great seat, not on the floor, but right in the middle of the studio with a perfect view of the stage. I think we may have even made eye contact a few times...at one point it was just too much to handle and I had to avert my eyes. ;) Vince was hilarious...the best late night interview of his to date, in my opinion. He was ON, Baby! And the nice thing about being there in person is that I got to watch him the whole time! Did someone say Jeff Gordon was on the show, too? Hmm. Must have missed that part. I hope you all got to see it. It was truly Vince at his best.

Get your VCRs and TiVos ready...

According to elherts (another fine Vince informant), Vince is on Extra again tonight.

"I'm on the East Coast. He was on again tonight, and was also on the Insider. He'll probably be on ET too. Yipee!! Hope this gets you in time, but I am sure you are already taping it just in case."

Thanks so much, elherts!:)

Hurry! Vince on Extra tonight.

Anna has just informed me that Vince is on Extra (NBC) tonight. She said he talks about the "Dinner." Hope you can catch it! Thanks a bunch, Anna! :-x

Update: Vince is on right after the first commercial break after the Grammy coverage. Here's a pic I took of the TV...not very good, but it was so fast, I couldn't catch much more. The other two are even worse!
