Is it true, Vince?

vv112007.jpgI've never worked with him before, but I always thought Vince was the modest, unassuming type. Liz Smith of the NY Post and Variety says otherwise. What do you think?

HEY, IT'S A DIFFICULT BUSINESS

An informal panel of publishers, editors and public relations pawns voted recently on who the most impossible persons are in show business. This probably won't be printed anywhere but here, as these pros all have to stay in business.

But Numero Uno, at the top of the list, is the rather newish star Vince Vaughn, he of the current "Fred Claus." (This so-called comedy is about as funny as a lump of coal in one's stocking.) Insiders call the guy who emerged triumphant from "Wedding Crashers" and from a failed romance with Jennifer Aniston "the most egotistical, the most difficult, the kind of person who calls at 3 a.m. to demand different things."

And who, asked I, is his female equivalent? I was a tiny bit surprised when in unison came this reply - "Sharon Stone." As Sharon Stone raises so much money for the AIDS fight, I am reluctant to add her here, but I will - just in case her detractors have a point.

I haven't worked with him either but I just don't buy it. I think he has a very strong personality that possibly doesn't sit well with some people. There have been plenty of people who praised him though so I don't think it's just him being a terrible person. The quote about him from Sean Penn fits in well here I think, the one about Vince being "the Fourth of July." He clearly looked at it as a positive and I do too. Vince seems to be just a rambunctious, loud guy by nature. They shouldn't work with him if they have a problem with it! ;)

I also think that maybe certain PR people don't like him because he does his own thing, i.e. Wild West Comedy Show. Wasn't that about the time he was "dropped" by ID/PR?

It was. Good call.

Vince is the talent and they (PR people) work for him, not vice-versa. He is a professional and is extremely smart in this business. That's why Universal gave him such a sweet deal. For them to say he is the most difficult person to work with just shows how spineless they are. They should try and learn something from him instead of being lazy in their cushy, overrated jobs.

Vince Vaughn is a real actor. He isn't a "celebrity" like so many others in his profession. Maybe that's what Publishers, Editors and PR pawns would rather work with, I don't know. Vince takes his acting very seriously, and that's what we love about him. Vince isn't going away; I see him having a career much like Clint Eastwood's.

In this short interview (by Jon Favreau, no less!) Jon tells Vince:

JF: All right. Vince, I think that'll do it. I don't want any 2:00 A.M. phone calls saying "Could we take out that line, please?" Understand?

So I wonder if he really IS a pain to work with? Is there some truth to Jon's joking? LOL!

Sorry, Mac- I had to change the URL cutter link to tinyURL. It was taking too long to get to the article and made me look at ads! Thanks for the link! That's one of the articles that is listed on IMDb's site. I remember reading that story about his bedwetting. Going through that with my son. :-/ I WON'T be hanging his sheets outside to dry, though!

Yellow journalism will be yellow journalism. And we're not talking the color of sunshine!

Maybe it's because he's not a liberal nut job like the rest of them.

YOU GO BOY! You stay you and be very, very proud. You appear caring, loyal and unafraid to be you!

You are number one, and not on the difficult list!

There should be a difficult list for journalists.
