CHICAGO -- The stars will be out tonight to pay tribute to Chicago's fallen police officers. WBBMís Jan Coleman reports. LISTEN HERE
Comedian Tom Dreesen is hosting tonight's Chicago Police Foundation's home-grown, star-studded salute to Chcago's fallen officers at the Arie Crown Theater.
The stars include Dennis Farina, Joe Mantegna, Dennis Franz, William Peterson and Gary Sinise, all of whom have played police officers, as well as George Wendt, Vince Vaughn, and Larry Minetti, and musicians Peter Cetera and Dennis DeYoung. Rounding out the group -- Mike Ditka and members of the championship '85 Bears.
Motorola will turn over a $750,000 check to help build a permanent memorial for officers killed in the line of duty.
